Teach less learn more?

Daugther 10, came home dissapointed. Dissapointed that she was being penalised for her quick thinking. Marks were deducted because the table used to prove the question was not comprenhensible. More numbers were needed. She could have transpose from else where. When nurturing young mind are we prepared to accept and encourage when presented with the unexpected? Give the benefit of the doubt to the child or squash any that deviate from the trodden path. Does two marks make any difference? Except a motivation boost for a trying child.

There was this girl , about your daughter's age, who was punished and asked to do 50 squats because she was ahead of her home work by one extra excersise!

yes, I dont like this teach less learn more thing. I dont think it can apply at the primary level. If you dont teach them, where are they going to learn from? Enrichment centres? How about those that cant afford to send their kids there??!!? It should only be at the sec or university level, where the kids will have time to pursue areas of their interest and are able to do so independently. Now, they depend on the teachers and parents to teach them.

Just Me
Over a trivial, will this incident make her a better person?

SAHM
My sentiments exactly.
Notice, some children have tuition for every subject except social studies.
