The girls had an introductory lesson on fencing by the reknown Russian women fencing coach Maria Bobok together with her husband Viacheslav Bobok coach for the singapore fencing team. Being very disciplined and meticulous, the girls had to go through the warm up routine, stretching before they were taught the basic stance in fencing. At long last after an hour of training, they finally had a chance to hold the foil.

There is a fencing school at united square. Did consider it for my kids, but decided against it - as they just dont have enough time - as they play chess competitively - one sport is enough! But sure looks very fun - and elegant - holding the foil.

Yes, these days with every cca going competitive which means 3 tmes a week, 2 1/2 hour per session, there is no time for leisure games. Sure takes the fun out of games.

Spot on. You from PLMGS too?
Yupz, i was from PLMGS.
My frens and i always rollz our eyes when guys from other schools made corny jokes about our uniform --> that WHITE Belt.
At that time, we really hope we could have the same 'sailor' uniform as MGS... :Pp
Pretzel:
Had always wondered about the white belt too.
beats me too... maybe one of the founders wanted to make sure we differentiate ourselves from the havoc convent girls... Hence the Power Ranger white belt :P or maybe at that particular era when they were deciding the design of the uniform, White Belts happened to be the IN thing???
