It's true in the case of my family clan gathering . We only get to meet up during weddings or important customary family functions. On these occassions we oooohs and aaahhs on how much one has changed, how much the young ones have grown. How well maintain our aunties are and how suave our uncles have mellowed into. Last sunday was no different.
Then there are taboo subjects. Never ask if you want a happy and magical evening of great friends food and wine. Profession,, education level and marital status.

I guess must of us are like that. I make obligatory visits to my relatives only once a year during CNY. It's a tradition. But I won't even recognise some of them if I were to run into them on the road.
